| Are they dangerous.... They have on occasion shown signs of aggression, especially toward armed males, but there are few reports of them hurting anyone and several reports of them offering help to the stranded or lost. They have shown signs of being territorial, but there are reasons to believe that they are more concerned when we wander too close to their young. They are normally found in groups with occasional solitary males. Most often an aggressive encounter is marked by loud vocalizations, thrown rocks or tree limbs, or a territorial display followed by an escort out of that area. These creatures are incredibly strong and fast, capable running down and killing large deer, yet, they have shown themselves to be very tolerant of our presence. | | |
