Are they dangerous.... They have on occasion shown signs of aggression, especially toward armed males, but there are few reports of them hurting anyone and several reports of them offering help to the stranded or lost.
They have shown signs of being territorial, but there are reasons to believe that they are more concerned when we wander too close to their young. They are normally found in groups with occasional solitary males.
Most often an aggressive encounter is marked by loud vocalizations, thrown rocks or tree limbs, or a “territorial display” followed by an escort out of that area.
These creatures are incredibly strong and fast, capable running down and killing large deer, yet, they have shown themselves to be very tolerant of our presence.

Where can they be found.... There have been reported sightings from all of North America. The conventional thought that they were confined to the wilderness areas of the Northwest is giving way to a much larger geographic and habitat distribution.

Why are there no "good" pictures or video.... They haave shown an aversion to being observed and even more so when anything is pointed at them. There are a number of "poor quality' images, and several videos that have been presented. We hope to show some of the challenges involved in getting pictures of these "masters of camouflage".

Why haven't a body or bones been found.... No one knows the answer to that. The best guesses are that they bury or dispose of their dead.

Why haven't I seen one.... They are better at hiding than we are at seeing them. There are reports of them being within feet of a person and never seen or heard. Sometimes the only clue that they are around is a "smell".
