| I took this picture at a little after six p.m. on 062408, with a Sony DSC-H7, 8.1meg, at 15X zoom. The subject is approximately 500-600 feet from the camera. This is one of 14 photographs that I took over in a few minutes. I am facing the east and the sun is at my back. This is one of a small group that I have been photographing for over a year in one of the "Plains States", primarily farmland with wood lots and wooded waterways. They appear to spend their days in this area during the summer months and have a fairly substantial shelter with live vines and brush covering it. During the spring, the smaller ones get up in the Cottonwoods, possibly getting at the flowers that ripen at this time. I have included 6 of the 14 pictures taken along with copies of all 14 original image files. None of these images have been fabricated or hoaxed in any manner. No one knew I was going to be there and I have not followed any kind of schedule on my visits to the area. | | |
